Valley Stream Pediatrics is a general pediatric office caring for infants children and adolescents. Dr. Marc Lashley , Dr. Lori Berman, are the only physicians at the office. We care for patients up to the age of 21 years. We have a licensed pediatric dietician on staff to help our patients with dietary problems, and we have free behavioral classes every month. Dr. Berman is also a pediatric gastroenterologist, and able to treat a variety of illnesses related to the GI system. We are skilled in the gynecologic care of adolescent women, and can assist them with early pelvic and reproductive care.

About Dr. Marc Lashley
Dr. Lashley has been in pediatric practice since 1990. His undergraduate training was at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Lashley finished his medical training at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, and completed his residency in pediatrics at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Lashley is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Nassau Academy of Medicine. He was president of the local chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics from 2013-2015, and now serves as an advisor to them. Dr. Lashley also has been on the Executive Board of the Nassau Pediatric Society for several years as the Chairman of both the Membership and Immunization Committees and was President of the Nassau Pediatric Society in 2002. Doctor Lashley has two grown sons and enjoys family time, being in nature and camping. Dr Lashley has been appointed to the faculty of Hofstra Medical School and is a student mentor for them. In 2018, Dr. Lashley was given the prestigious Top Doctor Award from NY TopDocs.
About Dr. Lori Berman
Dr. Berman completed her undergraduate training at Emory University. She is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine where she achieved honors. After completing her residency in pediatrics at Schneider’s Children Hospital at Long Island Jewish, she underwent 3 years of intensive training in Pediatric Gastroenterology at North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Berman is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She recently chaired the membership committee of the Nassau Pediatric Society.
Dr. Berman was the President of Nassau County Pediatrics and is now a member of the Northport Running Club. When she is not running, she also enjoys swimming and hiking. Dr. Berman has 2 teenagers, a 14 year old girl and a 16 year old boy. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children. You can also catch her at the theatre or a new restuarant, as she is a food enthusiast!
About Dr. Joy Nagelberg
Dr. Nagelberg has been in pediatric practice since 1985. She attended medical school at SUNY StonyBrook and completed her residency at Schneider (Cohen’s) Childrens Hospital. Following her pediatric residency she served as Chief Resident and then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Ambulatory Medicine. She remained at Cohen Childrens Hospital where for the next 5 years she was an attending physician in the Division of General Pediatrics caring for outpatients in the clinic and private practice as well as inpatients on the medical floors. In 1991 she became Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the childrens hospital where she had both clinical and administrative duties. Most recently she has been practicing general pediatrics in a local group in Queens. She is very excited to be working in the Valley Stream and Belle Harbor offices with Dr. Lashley and Dr. Berman with whom she has had long time acquaintances. Dr. Nagelberg loves spending time with her family and enjoys running, cycling, skiing and other outdoor activities.
About Jonathan Ringer, DNP, CPNP
Dr. Ringer (commonly called Dr. Jon around the office) is a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens. He completed his undergraduate education at Tufts University in Medford, MA, and worked as an educator of young children for several years in the city of Boston, MA. He then returned to his hometown where he started his academic and clinical training as a nurse practitioner at Columbia University in the City of New York. He graduated from Columbia with a clinical doctorate degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), specializing in Pediatric Primary Care. He has trained in various healthcare settings within both New York City and Long Island including Montefiore Medical Center, Jacobi Medical Center, and Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center.
Dr. Ringer is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) and is passionate about primary care medicine. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). Dr. Ringer loves teaching and is an author whose research was published in the Journal of Pediatric Health Care in 2019. His pastime includes spending time with family and close friends, going to the theater, traveling, exercising at the gym, and exploring new restaurants.

We emphasize a warm nurturing atmosphere where the doctors know each child individually. We follow the guidelines and tenants set by the American Academy of Pediatrics and follow their immunization schedule.
